…close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.
We get it. Autism might be a new world for you. We’re here to help you navigate it. Everything we do at SOAR in Skagit and Whatcom county is designed with your child in mind.
We begin with an assessment, completed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) local to Skagit and Whatcom counties where we determine the full spectrum of needs. From teaching kids to talk or use the toilet, to adaptive skills, social skills, motor skills, and behavior reduction, we cover it all. During your initial assessment, one of the first questions you’ll hear from us is “what are your big goals for ABA therapy?” We want to make sure your child succeeds and you see results.
Skagit and Whatcom counties use a common referral form for ABA. Please click here for more information.

After we’ve done a comprehensive review of medical and school records, parent interviews, and formal testing, we develop an individually tailored treatment plan and share it with you. We’ll go over all of your childs proposed goals and make sure they make sense to you. We also want to make sure we’re targeting everything that matters, to both you and your child. We make any changes and then…
We get to work.
We assign you a team of highly trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to work under your BCBA. Therapy usually starts with what we call a “pairing” phase. It’s where we get to know your kid on a more personal level and form a relationship with him. This can look very different depending on the individual child, but we’re purposeful about it. Our goal is to get your kid to like being around us. Because kids learn better when they like their instructors. You’ll also see all of our therapists collecting data on an iPad. Thats one of the things we do best. We use it to make changes to goals, keep you updated, and ensure your child is successful. You’ll always know what we’re doing. Because we’re with you from takeoff to landing.
