Tell me more!
At Ascend, staff pair childs’ goals in ABA with typical school-age goals. The students then follow a structured schedule alongside their peers to learn math, science, and other academic topics.
In addition, another invaluable aspect of Ascend is the 1:1 instruction your child receives. Getting individualized instruction can mean the difference between getting by and thriving for a child. Having this level of teaching ensures that your child feels supported every step of the way. In addition, individual learning spaces are provided for those with sensory or behavioral concerns.
ABA at ascend
At Ascend, ABA is used as a tool to develop necessary skills and behaviors. Children with developmental disabilities often find the typical classroom environment to be very stressful, as a result, causing more maladaptive behaviors. Focusing on compassionate care ensures that the child’s happiness is the priority. Extensive research has proven that children learn best when happy, relaxed, and engaged. By using the principles of ABA, children can learn how to self-regulate independently. We can measure and track children’s progress through data collection to ensure they generalize the skills they’ve learned. Pairing ABA with academic goals creates a well-rounded learning environment where special-needs children can succeed.
How do I enroll?
Due to high demand, Ascend Academy is closed for enrollment until June 2022. In the meantime, there are steps you can take to ensure your student is ready to enroll by summer.
- Education plan: Obtain your child’s most recent IEP or 504 plan. This ensures your child will receive the individualized care they need. If your child does not have one, write a letter explaining why.
- Medical plan: Gather your child’s medical records and autism diagnosis to include in their care plan.
- Application: Fill out an application by clicking this link.
There is a considerable need for the education that Ascend provides. Expect the wait to be at least a month. When accepted, you will receive a registration packet and instructions for the next steps.
